You auditioned for MT, right?

You auditioned for MT, right?

I wasn't in THAT van... I was the guy in the red polo at the dance MT audition. I was for MT. I didn't get to see the opera.

Yeah, I check about every 10 hours haha

OHHH I remember you, the red polo kid! You were on the tour, also, right? Good luck to you

HAHA omg... yeah I was... who were u?

hmmm in the aud i had on the black pants and white shirt

and then for my individual aud i was wearing a black shirt and and pink/black tie

OHHHH okay! Well good luck to you too!

hey drum87,

Just curious - was the girl who was asked to sing home have reddish brown long hair/bangs/good dancer?

Im not sure- I heard her talking about it, but I forgot what she looked like.

She seemed pretty excited about it.

I check that website about 3 times an hour. It has become my new web check obsession, now that I know nothing new is going to pop up at ithaca.

Good luck everyone- heres to hoping that we beat the odds and ALL get in! It doesn't hurt to dream!

I dont remeber. I know who your talking about though, the girl from Cincinnati in the periwikle blue leotard...

so... I didn't get in... anyone else get in?

Were you going for BFA in MT?

Sorry you didn't get in, but I hope you get in at all the other schools you applied to!

I will not hear back until I get my SAT scores in, I'm taking them on the 28th.

hey no luck for me either..oh well...see you guys on the other college posts

I didn't get in either. I wonder who else on here is the other 97% that didnt get in? See you all on Broadway instead of at CCM...You still have to dream.

But now that I didn't get in...I'm questioning my future...what if CCM is right? What if I shouldn't be a performer.

Please tell me I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Please do not be discouraged just because of one school's opinion. It's possible that they could have liked you very much, but just didn't have space.

I auditioned for BFA programs two years in a row, and although I was flat-out rejected from UMichigan both years, I was one of three girls on the wait list and Juilliard and one of another few at CMU, and was accepted several other great BFA programs.

I'm sure now more than ever that I am meant to do this, even though UMichigan and I just apparently did not "click". No matter how great and talented someone is, they're probably not meant for every school...you just gotta have faith that you will end up in the right place, no matter what. I know for a fact that that is always the case, no matter how long it takes someone to get there.

I dont feel that way at all...and neither should you...im sure if you are considering to even attempt to major in MT that you have the talent...dont let it discourage you...go to your next auditions with sights set to make it into that particular program so that you can grow as an actress there to prove CCM wrong about you..dont give up..we all are going through the same crazy process...stay strong

PLEASE do not judge if you have "what it takes" based upon ONE selective college's admissions outcome! I think if the majority of folks did that, they'd come away with a completely different reality. Nobody is going to get into them all....that is rare with these odds. Even very qualified people can be turned away as there are not enough slots. At most very selective schools, they could fill the class twice and have it be as good as the first group they took. Remember, as well, that if they are taking 20 kids, for example, you aren't truly up for all 20 of those slots. If you are a girl, that already narrows it to 10 slots...and then they will be taking various types of actresses and voices. Perhaps there are about 2-3 slots that you could fit into. Trust me, there are more than 3 girls in this country auditioning for those slots who are "good enough". Your turn is not going to come up EVERY time. That is why you apply to several schools. The outcome of ONE college admissions decision is not a commentary about how good you are or if you have what it takes. Please realize this. If my kids looked at their one full rejection and JUST that, they'd think they were not successful but when they look at their overall outcome, they had many wonderful options. Even if you only get into ONE program, that is a successful outcome because you can ONLY attend ONE anyway. It is not a contest as to how many acceptances you can accrue. You will go to college and end up some place. For the few who don't get into any college....then some reassessment is in order.....the list may not have been balanced....or some additional training is needed....and then efforts can be redirected and options looked into. But right now, there is a lot more to go in this college process. You must pick yourself up from this one outcome......and hopefully have realized ahead of time that this outcome was rather likely....afterall it happened to 97% of those who auditioned which is more likely than for those who got in....and so don't come to EXPECT a "yes" from any one particular school, realistically no matter how talented you are, given the odds....BUT if you are qualified, then a college will work out for you, and you just don't know which one it will be yet. Hopefully your list has schools with various odds and therefore, something will work out. Stay the course. This is exactly how casting auditions go at higher levels, too. Look at all the people on Broadway....successful, right? But those same people did not get cast every time they ever auditioned and they likely did not get into EVERY college they applied to. Don't forget that and believe in yourself. Start anew on each audition. It is a stressful process but keep your sights set on the bigger picture. You'll be going some place next fall and it's going to work out.

PS, No ONE school is the end all and be all. CCM is a great school of course but it is not the only terrific program and surely is not the only one you can thrive at and enjoy.....do not just fall in love with one school....there are definitely many where you could be very happy and successful.

My son got in for the theatre program! He's very excited. He loved the program. It was his first choice (except for Julliard which is his dream). However, while I'm thrilled for him, a rejection wouldn't have been the end of the world. He felt good about the audition, but he was prepared to move on to either Evansville (accepted) or UMich (deferred) and feel good about his talent. You all have to remember its a #'ers game and what the school is looking for. My son is a real character and full of personality in front of people, so he tends to stand out. Good luck to all. Anybody else get in?

Actorsdad.....congratulations to your son! He must be thrilled. I know someone in the acting program at CCM who loves it. Wishing your son all the best. Enjoy the moment.

Congrats to your son, actordad! Did your son apply for/audition for both MT and straight acting?
