CCPA roosevelt university

hi ,to whoever can reply this ,thank you first!
I have plan to apply for thr CCPA graduate composition program. want to know if this place is worthy enough, like is ccpa a good place for composer? how about the student’s instruments playing quality, is it hard to get some students to perform the new work ? how about the teachers? do i still need to earn non-music credits as graduate? what’s the drawback of this composition program?
thank you!

Why did you choose this particular program? What are you looking for in a grad composition program? What do your current professors think of it as a next step for you? Does their aesthetic fits yours? What do you hope to get out of it? Can you afford it?

I read the website and it looks like a good program, but I did not have time to look up the faculty. Have you looked at the website? The requirements for the degree are listed. If you want to eventually do a doctorate, you can gather a good portfolio and apply in a couple of years. At the grad level, as Spirit Manager says, aesthetic fit is important. What kind of aesthetic are you pursuing? Feel free to PM.

CCPA’s composition department is a rarity in that it’s chairperson is a woman! They seem to allow a good variety of styles so it’s easy to find your niche. No problem in getting student performers either.
