I logged into my College Board account and it says my Profile will not be reported to Harvard until 11/16/15. Harvard says the deadline is November 1. Why is this the case? I submitted it couple days ago at least. Will this be a problem? Thanks for your time.
It won’t hold up an admissions decision. They are need-blind, so don’t look at your need as part of the admissions decision.
Although Harvard asks for the CSS Profile to be submitted by November 1st, the financial aid office does NOT automatically calculate financial aid on every student who apples for it, as that would be a waste of time and energy given 95% of applicants to Harvard are rejected. Instead, financial aid is only calculated for students that have been accepted and filed the correct paperwork – which means that the financial aid office does not begin calculating financial aid until AFTER they receive a list of accepted students from the Admissions Committee sometime in December. So, your CSS Profile being a few days late will not matter.
The only possible downside is that, if you’re accepted, you may not learn of your FA at the time of acceptance. More importantly, you’ll still be eligible for Harvard’s (very generous) financial aid. Good luck!
Thanks for the information!
