Anyways, I'm a high school junior planning on skipping senior year to go to a local community college, because my GPA is too low to go to any good college. (Straight B's, 3 weighted classes). I'll have 5 AP tests that I'll either get a 4 or 5 on. Will those AP classes allow me to advance college classes, or what benefit are they for transfering into UCs?

Yes, check with the community college about whether the AP test score lets you take a more advanced course in the subject (e.g. AP Calculus may let you start in a math course more advanced than the first semester or quarter of freshman calculus).

Do make sure to complete the assessment/placement tests your cc requires, and make sure they have BOTH these results and your ap scores in the system. In my first semester at cc, I was really rushed and stupid and didn’t question when I was placed in eng 101 (highest in a placement test) although my ap scores would have cleared me to be in eng 103. When you send your ap scores to your cc, call back and double check that they actually put the scores into the system so you don’t end up wasting courses.

At my CCC, my AP scores let me skip basic college english composition and calculus 1. I started with advanced english composition and calculus 2, even though my AP scores were nearly 10 years old. (Of course, I made sure I hadn’t forgotten everything before I decided to pick up where I left off in calculus!)
