CCU ---2015-2016 Auditioning Students

Since most are in NYC for the senior showcase and CCU is out on Spring Break next week, I would think that you will not hear anything through next week.

Anything yet? I heard they sent out e-mails to the MTs, what about Physical Theatre and Acting? Does anyone know?

I know of at least one acting email that was sent out. I am not sure about physical theatre. We have some waiting on that one as well.

Do I need to be academically admitted first before receiving a decision?

I think this was already answered on another thread, but I do believe you have to be academically accepted first.

Offers have only started to go out. They are sent in waves over about 4 days. If you haven’t heard anything by late this week, please contact us. You must have applied and been admitted prior to receiving a response. If you have applied, and your application is complete, we may (and this has happened only a few times) hold a decision until the university has made a decision regarding your application. Good luck to all of you. I know this is a rather stressful time of year. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

Thank you! @kjgc If my application is not complete until next week will I still get an admissions decision and artistic when it is? They are waiting on one item that I requested to be sent.

PM me with your name and I’ll make sure they know you are in process.

Finally got my application complete!

It seems there are many of us who have not heard? My d finished her application back in November so that is not the issue. I am assuming it is a no, but we still haven’t heard from Ball or Coastal.

yes @mtmamma2020 same here!

Just got rejection email.

still nothing…

Sorry @destiny95 ! Hang In there…

@destiny95 me too! We’re in this together my friend.

Thanks! @hopeful1212

does anyone know how the priority waitlist works at Coastal? How many people are on it? How likely am I to get accepted into the program? Also, is it for MT and Acting or just MT?

We establish waitlists in Acting and MT. We keep the lists very short. However, please know that it isn’t a simple numbers game. We are seeking to establish a company of actors/singers/dancers. Within that group of people, we seek a wide range of styles, looks and abilities. Therefore, if we have someone on the list that has a similar profile, and they decline the invitation, that invitation would then go to the person on the waitlist. It isn’t that every space has a single waitlist candidate. It’s more like there are very loosely devised groups. If someone from that group (male, character actor, singer for instance) declines, we would look to the one or two others in that loosely devised group to extend that invitation. We have fewer people on the waitlist than we have invitations sent out.

This is a very difficult and complex process for everyone. I’ve always wished it was more empirical…you ran the fastest, therefore you get the invitation…kind of thing. But it isn’t. Please let me know if you have other questions.

Have all the emails gone out on acceptances? My son was accepted academically but has not heard anything on MT decision.

@kjgc - I’m priority waitlisted, but haven’t heard anything. Coastal is my top choice. Is there still a chance for me?
