What should you do if the school that your parents attended does not have a corresponding CEEB code? Should it just be 0000?

It should be 000000

But the problem is that the blank does not allow filling in. One must first search for a school, choosing it and then having the blank filled automatically. Anyone can help me with this?. Urgent

Hi,

I’m trying to fill in the online common app. Thing is, there are errors, namely not being able to fill up CEEB codes for my parents’ colleges.

Tried searching online, on collegeboard and even the common app itself. No luck!

And it’s not like these institutions are obscure, its a masters @ Harvard University, US, Bachelors @ Cambridge U, UK, and Oxford U, UK.

Any advise please?

Thanks!

If the college or university you are looking for is very obviously one that should have a CEEB code - such as Harvard or Cambridge - you are probably looking for something too specific. For example, Harvard undergrad is listed as Harvard College, not Harvard University. You can search for just part of a college’s name to widen your search a bit.

There are many universities, particularly outside the US, that do not have CEEB codes. If your parents’ college(s) do not have a CEEB code, simply click the ‘Not Found’ link that appears after you click the search button in the CEEB code lookup window. It will automatically populate the six zeros code (000000) on your application, then you fill in the name and location of the college.

SOLUTION!

Here are your quick and dirty steps to a successful Signature page:

1) Click on the ‘look up’ beneath the CEEB blank. A dialog box will pop up.
2) Select from the drop-down box which country your parent went to school from. For example, my father attended TU Delft in the Netherlands. I selected ‘Netherlands’.
3) Type in the city where the university is from. You have to do this or make another specification, or the system spits at you. I typed in ‘Delft’.
4) Hit enter, or click the search button. It’s gonna give you some ******** in bolded words about “Didn’t find your school?”. IGNORE THIS AND KEEP THE DIALOG BOX OPEN.

NOW HERE’S THE IMPORTANT BIT, GUYS

5) Hit enter/click the search button again. That’s right, in the same dialog box, do it one more time. This time, the same words “Didn’t find your school?” will come up again, but this time bolded red. Directly after, there is a hyperlink that says “Click here to indicate Not Found in your application.”

CLICK ON THE LINK

6) magic happens.

was that so hard?

I guarantee this works because I just did it for my earlyD app.
