Cell and Molecular Biology and Biomedical Engineering Major?

Hi! I was wondering if it applying as a Cell and Molecular Biology and Biomedical Engineering major was more competitive than other majors like only Cell and Molecular Biology? In addition, does area of interest(s) mean major so I can put up to 5 if there were that many fields I were interested in? Thanks!

When you apply to Michigan you can only apply to a single college. The engineering school (BME) has a much lower acceptance rate than LSA (CMB). Once you are admitted to engineering or LSA you can select any major. If you want to double major you must also apply to all of the schools in which the major resides. It is somewhat easier to be an engineering student and apply to LSA than visa-versa because of per-requisites and GPA requirements. Your area of interest can be vague if you choose, most students are undecided as freshman.
