cell call, text, or neither?

I've texted a lot this year because calling people can be quite time-consuming and inefficient compared to texting.

I'm pondering getting the 300 min/month and unlimited texting plan, switching from my current 450/month and 250 text message plan.

Which do college students mostly use?

Go with the first option. I text so much more then I talk.

not in college yet, but i think people are starting to text way more everywhere

Texting.

My text-game is relatively abysmal though. I've rendered worthless many a phone-number pickup by following up with lackluster text messaging.

First plan. Texting > calls these days. Convenient, quick and easy.

unlimited texting is the way to go..i rarely talk on my phone for more than 5 minutes at a time, but i text constantly.

i don't know how to use T9, though :(

Texting sucks, and I hate when people do it. If you have something important enough that it can't wait for me to check my e-mail or next time I see you, then it's important enough for me to actually talk to you.

Go with texting. I never used it before I went to college, but it seems more people use it there. It's much easier to use for stuff like "hey are you doing anything tonight" or "what chapter are we supposed to read."

If it's important then I call. If it's just like "hey whats up wanna go to chilis tonight?" type stuff then I text especially if I'm not sure if they are in class right then. Texting is also way better when you just want to find out something simple (assignment due date, etc.) and you really don't want to talk to them. I text way more than I talk.

I text a lot more than than I call, especially now that I have a phone with a QWERTY keypad.

unlimited baby =)

Eh...7,000 texts a month here ;)

Verizon Unlimited is amazing...$10/month. Unlimited:
-text
-picture
-video
-calling
to anybody on any network at any time of day.

Unlimited texts are a must. My wallet cried until I got them.

texting is definitely the way to go

OH and I forgot one on my list...unlimited:
-AIM/Yahoo/MSN

Remember to have enough minutes though. Some months I talked for over 400 minutes. You get into a long conversation with your parents over something or you get a call out of the blue from a high school friend and end up losing 30-100 minutes. If you only have 200 minutes on your plan you just lost a huge chunk for the month. Unlimited texting comes in handy, but make sure you have enough minutes, or make sure you make all your long calls at night/weekends.

+++++ texts

Oh yeah, 200 minutes isn't that much unless, of course, all of your family and almost everyone you know has the same carrier and you get free phone to phone.

Texts. Good for quick questions and when you don't know whether someone is in class at the moment.
