Cell Phone Coverage Question

Hey guys, I'm hoping that some current UT austin students can give me some insight into the whole cell phone provider mess I'm in.

I've had T-mobile for 6-7 years now. They were always cheap, no complaints when I went through middle and high school.

However, as soon as I moved to UT Austin on campus for dorming, I realized that I started to drop a lot more calls than usual. Things were okay when I lived in Jester, but once I moved to Blanton I started getting ZERO signal in my own dorm which was ridiculous.

However, to be fair, my phone is 10 years old and I do want to make the case for T-mobile that my phone's own transmission strength must be terrible.

That being said, I want to switch to a smartphone at the end of the year when my contract is up. I'm planning on moving to West Campus and I was wondering which cell phone provider actually gets signals in the apartments there? I've heard horrible things about Tmobile, Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon but most of the comments I found online are quite outdated so I was hoping to hear some personal stories here. Money is not really too much of an issue because I am DESPERATE now to find the cell phone provider that will give me the most coverage on UT campus and the west campus area, emphasis more on building penetration, so that I can actually get signal inside where I live. Please tell me that is a feasible dream :(

i am not sure about west campus. i have sprint and i live in the far west/arboretum area. i don’t have a problem with cellphone coverage at home. i’ve had sprint for many years and i think i’ve only ever had 2 dropped calls. but my only complaint is that on campus i can never get a data connection anywhere. i almost always have to use the school’s wifi connection, even outside.
