Cell phone coverage

AT&T and Verizon seem to have upgraded coverage on the ND campus. How is T-Mobile's service? Any problems getting connection from dorm rooms? We presently have T-Mobile and I really don't want to switch if we don't have to.

My daughter has ATT service, and she had quite a bit of trouble this year getting a signal in her dorm and many other buildings on campus. I was talking to our local ATT store about the problem, and I was told that the signal should improve since ATT is merging w/TMobile in 2 months.

Thank you! I forgot about the merge. I suppose it will be a moot point soon whether to stay with T-Mobile or not. I’m surprised to hear your D has trouble with ATT, though. I thought that was supposed to be one of the better options on campus.

S gradiuated this May and had T Mobile all 4 years. It was not the best reception in his dorm. He was in a basement room–don’t know if that mattered. It was never bad enough we considered switching carriers. TMobile upgraded ahe area ~2 years ago and it is better now. General consensus amoung S’s friends was Verizon coverage was very good.

Thank you, syrstress–I really appreciate the input! I bet the basement room did have something to do with it. I didn’t realize they had basement rooms in the dorms. What dorm was he in? And congratulations on his graduation!!

^I had ATT and had to change to Verizon because the coverage was so bad. I couldn’t receive calls or text in my dorm room which made contacting friends very difficult. Maybe it will get better but I am not sure. Unfortunately I don’t know about TMobile, but it sounds like they are fine too.

My daughter had Verizon for all four years and there were no problems. I don’t know whether it’s still an issue, but Verizon-to-Verizon calls never used up minutes, and since most of her friends had Verizon she didn’t have to pay for a huge number of allowable minutes.
