Cell phone help - need advice!

Hey all,

I'm using Verizon, and I'm up for a discount on a new phone. I just got the Samsung SCH-A870 and am not very happy with it.

1) Any recommendations for phones in general? I want to get a phone for free (yeah, I'm cheap), so I think the 2-year contract price has to be under $99.

2) Specifically, I'm looking at the RAZR v3m and LG VX8300. Can anyone tell me:
--Is there a hotkey that you can push to get into vibrate/silent? For example, on some phones, you can hold down #.
--When you go into silent mode, does the camera shutter still make a sound? Is there a way to turn the shutter off?
--Does the external display stay on a) when you're on the phone and b) when the phone is idle? If not, is it easy to turn the display back on?
--How is call quality?

Thanks so much!

razr sucks, everyone has it, dont get it, you'll lose any and all individualiaty you have

Yeah, I haven't heard very many good things about Razrs.

I used to have an LG phone and I was really satisfied with it. The call quality was excellent and I do remember a hotkey for vibration mode. I don't know anything about that specific phone though, but I've had good experience with LG.
