cell phone reception

i just wanted to know which cell phone companies (cingular, tmobile, verizon, etc.) have good reception at berkeley (so you can use them inside and outside of dorms). i know some colleges have really crappy cell phone reception and you have to go outside in order to use them and when the school is in new jersey, it's kind of inconvenient, not to mention cold for a california person. thanks!

uc berkeley is in new jersey!?!?! this is news to me.

Cingular and Verizon. T-Mobile isn't so great.

new jersey? wth are you talking about?

err, i meant another school i visited earlier this month in new jersey had really bad reception... oops, i wasnt very clear :(

verizon's cool around here, haven't had any problems

Inside the dorms are average reception... the buildings are made out of concrete. I have Cingular and it's good everywhere.

Cingular has the fewest dropped calls in the Bay Area.

Unlimitedx: I thought that was Sprint's advertising claim.... :)

Hahahah. I just always notice a billboard advertising such about Cingular as I drive on the 880 or take the BART everytime. :)

i have t-mobile and it has all bars in the dorms. or at least unit 2.

I use T-Mobile and it's absolutely great around campus...full bars almost everywhere except a few buildings.

How well does sprint work on campus?

my room mate has Sprint and through his cell phone out of the window a few months ago because the service was so bad. Seriously.

i guess it's between cingular and t-mobile
so which one is better?!

I'd say at this point the better one is the one that costs less (their quality is about the same).

Wow! That story is kind of hilarious and disturbing at the same time. Was it the phone or was service that bad? Maybe I should switch services ... I need a new phone anyway ... : )

i got Cingular and had no problems.
