I applied RD, and then my ancient ghetto cell phone decided to stop working. I'm trying to figure out what's the best service to get for each of the schools I applied to. How are T-mobile and verizon? any other suggestions?

verizon has worked well for us for three W'town years.

Verizon and Cingular are the only two providers that I KNOW will work in Williamstown-- not so sure about Sprint. And I know for a fact that T-Mobile gets no service up here. When I first visited, I lost service within 20 minutes of the college.

I would go with Verizon--it gets great service in Williamstown and is probably the most frequent provider of students...which means that most student-student cell phone calls at Williams are free (because most students have Verizon). The downside is that Verizon is pretty worthless abroad.

When we visited, no TMobile service. Cingular worked fine. If I were starting over, I would go with Verizon.

We have Sprint and it works fine within Williamstown, but there is no service when you leave going north or south. I think the road to North Adams is fine, not I'm not totally sure about that.
