what’s the best service at upenn?

good question.

I'd say it's NOT Verizon ... over in Center City I often don't have reception, and unlike in DC, it doesn't work on the subway.

Cingular seems pretty good for me.

what about Tmobile?

I have T-mobile and it seemed to work pretty well allover the East Coast while I was there. It works well everywhere.

Tmobile kind of sucks.

lol..good thing we can all agree...

....bump?...
ive heard cingular is very good along with verizon but..

verizon is bad in downtown philly
and from personal experience cingular was just awful in the princeton area

Cingular was great for me. Seriously, the service in Philly is amazing compared to rural Maine so i could never complain. If you live in a major city or somewhere with amazing service, you might be more critical of service. I never had a dropped call and had full service almost everywhere. Some people find bad service in librarys and high rises. I noticed bad service in towne building and DRL but i didnt really need my phone during class anyway.

How's Verizon on the campus & West Philly? I still have over a year left on my contract.

none are great, but the best is cingular. verizon sucks. t-mobile sucks more.

hmm...dang...cingulars not an option for me...guess verizon it is...

Sprint? [10 characters]

i was down at penn with my phone and i had good reception...i have a verizon...on a samsung which i always have good reception with that phone...i hated cingular when i had it

has anyone had any trouble with Tmobile specifically in the dorm rooms...more specifically in the quad?

Cingular is the best.

Plus as a Penn student you can get a special discount off your monthly bill and I think no activation fee

hmm really? what if i get my service from columbus, OH lol.......as in i already have cingular

JohnnyK, I'm planning on switching from T-Mobile to Cingular either before or after getting to Penn. Can you give more info about the Cingular discount?

Judas, you can go to www.cingular.com/discounts and get the discounts applied to your account.

Raghavp, the Cingular discount is-
10% off monthly fees
45% discount on new phones

You can access cingular.com/universities once you get your Penn email.
