Celll Phone Coverage

I would like some opinions on cell phone coverage on campus, in the dorms, and around town. Currently I have AT&T and when visiting seemed to have no problems, but I was mostly outside. Which do you think is better AT&T or Verizon?

Verizon. Hands down. My friends have trouble with just about every other company.

Verizon is only OK. My friends who have AT&T seem to better off.

I have to say you kids crack me up. when I went to college, no one was allowed to have phones in their rooms and we had to share 1 phone on each floor for emergency purposes.
If you have broadband Internet how much communication do you need? - just think of all the extra time you will have to study!!!

A baffled Dad.

AT&T is best all around coverage. Verizon was said to be the best, but D is student there and changed from Verizon to AT&T and now can get service in her dorm.

I have Verizon and it was fine most of the time. I really only had trouble in my dorm room (Dunham) but I think that may have just been my phone; 2 of my 3 roommates also had Verizon and they never had any complaints. The third had AT&T, as far as I know that worked fine for her.

Either Verizon or AT&T would be your best bet. As far as working in your room, it just depends on your room and where you stand! I think this is true for most campuses, not just Hamilton. Even at home I have areas were I get better service than others.

My daughter has AT&T and has not have trouble in 4 years. I know my phone doesn’t have a signal in the basement of Bristol when I have visited, but I bet most phones don’t.

I was on my Verizon phone from the parking lot near the golf course, all the way to yellow barn across campus and I didn’t drop the call or even hear a bit of static. On the walk I went by North and South dorms. No issues. I didn’t try my cell in any of the rooms. My phone is fairly new.
