Hi!
I’m looking for schools with great cello faculty or teachers in the Northeast and Midwest. I’m trying to stay away from big cities (New York, Chicago) because I can’t seem to adjust to that lifestyle.
Anyway, thank you so much!

Bard or Oberlin would be good schools to look into.
UM, CIM, Indiana U, Lawrence, Northwestern, Eastman are some to look into. All have strong cello faculty.
DePauw is good too for a smaller feeling campus.
CIM and Indiana U…
My school is really small, but we do have a great cello professor (but just one- small school)- Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL, so it’s midwest and not such a crazy big city like you say. The cello professor is probably my favorite one here, after my own teacher, of course (I’ve worked with her for lots of chamber groups)- she’s from Russia.
