Cellphones

I'm wondering which carrier has the best reception out there at Irvine?

Down south people keep telling me Cingular is the dominant carrier now. I'm still true to Verizon (NORCAL!), but Cingular has better phones. From my experience, they're both the same and top in the area.

Cingular = ATT

ATT < Verizon

Everyone < Verizon

Yay Verizon!

verizon is supposedly the best in terms of reception.

phones, i think cingular has a better selection.

Given my experience in and around the area, when you get to the hilly neighborhood next to UCI (Turtle Rock), reception with any other carrier than Sprint or Verizon dies. Sprint/Verizon seem to lead the way with their reception out in Irvine as it works and has clear calls throughout most of the city. Just my two cents. Go with Sprint or Verizon.

okay. thanks everyone! :)

lol i'm still not too sure which to get.. originally i was gonan get cingular/at&t.. but now.. idk .. xD

all i hav to say is... SPRINT SUCKS.

thats what a friend of mine says.. maybe its different down in irvine. unless you are in irvine & still find it sucky. ?

In and around Irvine and most of Orange County, I can tell you, Sprint is great. The coverage and reception for Sprint is fantastic around here. I never get dropped calls or rarely have a situation where I don't have reception. You can go to Sprint.com and view a detailed coverage map and see where you will be and if there will be sufficient reception. All I know is....they've been great to me and I would never leave them unless Verizon gave me a better deal. Bottom line: Verizon or Sprint. I don't care about the stupid "sim card switching" convenience thing....I care about the quality of the network technology sprint and verizon use...(CDMA=better overall for voice/data) Who else gets 7PM nights?

tmobile works great down in irvine
