I got this email from CMU:

The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) at Central Michigan University has received the results of your 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Because of inaccurate or incomplete responses on the application, the federal processor could not determine your eligibility for financial aid. You must correct these items with the federal processor before eligibility for financial aid can be determined. (Note: In many cases it is due to a missing parent and/or student signature).

Please refer to the Student Aid Report (SAR) Part 1 and Part 2 for directions on how to correct or update information. Corrections can be submitted to the federal processor via the web or by using the paper SAR.

If you provided an e-mail address on your FAFSA, the SAR will be available to you on the web at Home - FAFSA on the Web-Federal Student Aid. Using the web and signing in with a personal identification number (PIN) will speed up the correction process. If you do not have a PIN, you can request one at The PIN Web Site - Federal Student Aid.

If you did not provide an e-mail address, a paper SAR should have been sent to you via the U.S. Postal Service. If you choose to make changes via your paper SAR, sign and date Part 2 of the SAR and submit it to the address on the SAR.

Corrected information will be processed and an updated SAR will be sent to you. CMU will receive an electronic copy of the updated information 5-7 days after the revised SAR is sent to you.

If you have any questions about this email or the corrections process, please contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at (989) 774-3674 or toll free at (888) 392-0007. If you are a Global Campus student, please call (800) 664-2681, ext. 2.

If you have corrected the Student Aid Report within the last 5-7 days, please disregard this notice.

Sincerely,

The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid
Central Michigan University

I have no clue why it's saying this. I completed the FAFSA, to the point of no red errors showing up on the FAFSA slides. Why would it even be saying this?

I don't know what an SAR is, but I don't see it anywhere on my FAFSA login, so I can't do anything with something that doesn't even seemingly exist.

Why is it doing this? :(

When you login to fafsa are there two buttons that say View Processed Information? One is pdf the other html. Clicking one of those will bring up your SAR. If the buttons are there but don’t work, disable your pop-up blocker.

When you login, what does it say the status of your fafsa is?

SAR is student aid report. As far as I recall, it is just a list of all the info you put in FAFSA.

This is a situation where a call to the FAFSA help line would be a good idea.

Also did you electronically “sign” AND did one of your parents sign electronically. It’s the last step before you submit. The two pin numbers are different and the pin will match so for example of you mom name would use her pin …and you use your pin. You only need one parent (if your mom and dad are married) with a pin number.

Please refer to the Student Aid Report (SAR) Part 1 and Part 2 for directions on how to correct or update information.

Do this ^^^^. The SAR will have details about what is wrong. Read it & fix it. It is possible that you omitted a parent signature, or there may be some other small thing you did incorrectly. It happens a lot, but you need to take care of it right away. The date of processing is the date the FAFSA is SUCCESSFULLY submitted, so you need to get the corrections in. Right now, your FAFSA is rejected.
