CENTRAL OR SOUTHWEST?

Hi all, a few people I’ve talked to have told me that I shouldn’t dorm at Southwest, that it’s all about partying, whereas Central is more mellow compared to Southwest. I think I fit personally in Central better, but I’ve been told that Southwest is the best place to live as it is an almost entirely freshman area and it’s the best place to meet new people. Your thoughts?

You will find freshman dorms no matter which area of campus you live in. And in freshman dorms, everyone is looking to meet people. Southwest has the most people, yes, but there will be no shortage of people in central either. In fact, I believe Van Meter is the biggest dorm on campus and that is a freshman dorm in central. If you think you fit best into central, definitely live there. I have many friends who lived in central (specifically gorman) for their freshman year and made so many friends and loved it. I’m planning on living in central next year as a sophomore.
