Is anyone taking classes at Olin College, Needham for a Certificate in Engineering? How practical is it to travel from Waltham to Needham for classes. Do you think its possible to Major Physics, Maths and also take engineering courses at Olin?

I don’t know anything about the program but I can tell you that Olin is not too far from Brandeis. Olin is adjacent to Babson, which is in Wellesley–maybe a ten minute drive from Brandeis. Olin students can and do cross-register at Brandeis, so it is doable from a transportation point of view.

my s is majoring in physics but was told if he wanted an engineering degree there is an option of going to Columbia. They have an arrangement there.

yes, in addition to being able to study at Olin, you can get a combined BA from Brandeis and Columbia. details here: [Combined Physics/Engineering Major | Brandeis University](http://www.brandeis.edu/departments/physics/undergraduate/engineering.html) you get a BA in physics from Brandeis and a BA in engineering from Columbia after five years.
