Being as how I'm unsure of what I want to really dedicate myself to studying where I would invest so much time and money into it, I do know that I enjoy and want to learn more about web design and development, as well as a few other things that I really don't see the point in going and earning a Bachelor's (or Associate's) degree in.

So what is the deal with certificate programs? How are you supposed to recognize which ones are more lucrative? I don't really know what to ask because I don't really know where to start. Anybody have any advice or information regarding these things?

Thank you in advance.

If you’re unsure about what you want to dedicate your studies in, I recommend you to attend a community college to at least get some GE’s out of the way because that would be the least expensive route to take. If money is not an issue, then apply to a college or a university as undecided, that will give you a chance to explore different subject areas. In some schools, you can even take up a double major, or a major and a minor combo. Better investment.

Here are some sites to help you understand the differences better. Hope this helps.
