I took the CFA at SLS at West Point (wasn't accepted to NASS) this summer and they listed me as "No Risk" on my score sheet. I don't think my scores were that good.

Should I bother retaking the CFA or should I not worry about it?

Scores:

B-ball: 58
Pullups: 7
Shuttle: 9.00
Situps: 51
Pushups: 43
Mile: 8.02

Thanks!

BTW: I posted this same question on the West Point one, but didn't know how many people looked at both.

I assume you are male. And, yes, I would retake. The 3 areas USNA focuses on are situps, push ups and run. Here are the AVERAGE CFA scores for males – which USNA puts out to BGOs and advises that we may put out to candidates:

Mile: 6:40
Pullups 11
Situps 80
Pushups 58
B-Ball 67
Shuttle 8.9

In my view, if you’re significantly below the average, especially in the areas of focus, you should work out to improve your scores and retake the test. You may still be “passing” – USNA will let you know if you’ve failed – but being below average could hurt your overall chances. This is especially true if you are not a varsity athlete, in which case the CFA is weighted more heavily.

I do play varsity lacrosse, but will most likely retake it.

Thank you.
