I took the CFA yesterday, and here's how it went-

Bball throw: 66ft.
pullups: 4
shuttle run: 9.2
sit ups: 65
pushups 65
mile run 7:44
What do you think?

usnahopeful2012,

I don't know your sex, but for a guy, that's OK besides the mile run, but if you are a girl, that's looking pretty good right now. The shuttle run is a little slow, but if you look in some of the other threads, the CFA probably won't make you or break you, you just get a simple "pass" or "fail" unless something jumps out like a crazy run time (fast) or lack of strength (say 2 or fewer pull-ups, or less than 40 reps for pushups or sit ups).

I wouldn't lose any sleep about your scores, you can search this board and see where others have posted their stat's if that will reassure you, one comes to mind in which the applicant had a 9+ min mile and was offered an appointment, having said that, improving your condition can only help you get through Plebe summer with less physical stress, especially in terms of running and cardio conditioning so keep working at it, stay healthy and focused on your goal, if it's meant to be you'll get there

good luck

I am fairly satisfied with my CFA scores, however, I am not satisfied with my overall condition as of right now. Luckily, I still have six months. I have not been offered an appointment yet, but I have received a nomination from my Representative and one of my Senators. I have not heard back yet from the other Senator.

nice man those scores aren't bad...I'm basically in the same position as you-two nominations (Presidential and Congressional), haven't heard from either Senator, have not received an LOA or any type of early appointment offer. I am triple qualified, and I did earn a spot on the Candidate Visit Weekend coming up in March. Here's my scores so you can compare if you want:

Basketball Throw: 68 feet
Pullups: 9
Shuttle Run: 6.1
Situps: 95
Pushups: 50
1 Mile Run: 5:55

I passed, so I'm cool with my scores...apparently I did fairly well compared to other kids at Summer Seminar last June, so I was happy

How much do you weigh? My football team went all the way this year, so I had to take it with my football weight of 195. Also, how do you go about getting a Presidential nomination? How many people even get those?

Only military children are eligible for Presidential. It is an unlimited amount that can be given, but only 100 dependents can be selected.

usnahopeful, when i took that test i was around 155...but i wrestle for my high school, and right now I'm about 145 (will be 140). I don't really have that much body fat, but I'm not ripped either...Yeah at 195 the run probably sucked for you...

Like bullet said, if your parents are not in the military, you cannot receive a Presidential nomination...

I think you and I are in pretty good shape. Provided I did well enough on the CFA, (you obviously did) and with our nominations, we are in a group of 1800 still in the running to get the 1400-1500 appointments.

Those scores look fine. That's about what I got too.

ha yeah man...hopefully we will be some of the lucky ones who get those appointments..
