Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Chances

Here are my stats:

I live in Michigan
GPA: 2.802
ACT: 25(retaking, probably going to get a 27-29)
SAT: 560 on CR, 560 on M, 610 on W

EC's

-4 years of lacrosse, we won the state championship this past season.
-3 years of IM basketball.
-3 years of drumline/band.
-Job at a restaurant.
-Volunteer work.

I've got 2 really good teacher recommendations from teachers that know me really well. Since Pepperdine is a pretty religious school, I'm also going to get a recommendation from my priest there, and also the music director at my church because I played drums for the church "band" for a few years and I know her really well. And I hate to brag, but my essays are DY-NO-MITE!! And my senior year grades will be over a 3.0 at least.

Schools:

Grand Valley State University
Central Michigan University
University of Dayton
Michigan State University
Pepperdine University
University of Miami

I've already applied to Grand Valley, Central Michigan, Michigan State and Dayton, I just want to know my chances.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I forgot to add this to the above post. Part of the reason my GPA is low is because I have ADHD and anxiety and have really struggled with both throughout high school. I tried this thing called neuro-feedback this past summer, which seems to be working so far this year and I'm not taking medication for the first time in a long time. But I'm putting a letter in each application explaining what was going on with my ADHD and anxiety and how they effected my school work and other things.

Well, the ADHD thing won't win you much sympathy. I had to "stereotype" you, but colleges have seen plenty of kids with ADHD who pushed through it and achieved great grades and test scores.

I don't know a ton about the listed schools, but, from what I do know, you are pretty much aiming for the right schools. You don't have any stupidly far reaches, and you are smart to aim for the just-above-average schools with good programs.

Depending on your interests, you may also want to look at Lewis and Clark, which is a slight reach but a really nice, small, friendly school (I'm a real advocate, as I currently take some classes there to complement my HS curriculum).

You look good for those schools. If you can get recruited, it would be an added bonus.

Thanks for the replies. I know that the ADHD letter won't do much, but my counselor recommended I include it in application, so I figured it couldn't hurt me at all. I also forgot to mention that my mom is a professor at GVSU, so that will probably help me out. As for being a recruited athlete, it's too bad that lacrosse still isn't very big, because none of these schools have a team. I've been recruited by numerous schools, I just haven't liked any of them very much.

Anyone else want to add anything?

I think you have a chance everywhere and will get into at least two schools, but your scores hurt your chances. IMO, you have a better chance at central michigan and dayton than the others. I'm not sure how much weight they'll put on the ADHD note, but, as you said, it can only help. With great essays, and recs, you seem to be in a good position. good luck!!

Umm...

Is this a joke? :o

I doubt you'll get into Pepperdine, if for no other reason than because CA is anti-social and doesn't like OOS. Applying can't hurt though! Good luck!

Rosh420-What leads you to think this is a joke?

Also, I've got two quick questions about Pepperdine.

What is Pepperdine for me? High match? Low reach? Reach?

Is 4 recommendations too many for one school?

If the school asks for X number of recs, that's how many you should submit. No more no less.

I'd say pepperdine is a reach.
