Ch-ch-ch-chance! Thanks. :)

Hi! I'm a Junior.
I'm aiming for ivy league.
I'm also interested in schools such as Rice, WashU, etc.

I am also Asian.... haha.........

Stats:
GPA - 4.0 unweighted. lots of AP classes though, pretty hardcore course load. 12 APs by end of senior year.
Class Rank - top 5% unweighted. likely top 3% or something weighted.
SAT I - 2310 / CR 750 / M 780 / W 780
SAT II - Math II 790. 4 more to come
AP - Euro (5) - a ton more APs to come. hopefully good ones. :)

Extracurriculars:
Speech and Debate (leadership position) - state qualifier x 2
Art Club (leadership position)
commissioned to do art, art published in book! (kind of a joke but still legit)
Violin (orchestra in and out of school, all-state orchestra... good but not outstanding)
National Honor Society
Lotsa tutoring
Literary magazine board (leadership position)
Club Swimming (national age group record for relay, but only did it frosh year)

Leadership:
some captain and president positions

Awards:
umm.. National merit finalist hopefully? I am far above the cutoff for my state.
Hopefully something for taking a ton of AP test (8 by the end of this year)
nominated for national teacher councils writing award
some not very legit art awards

Advice for senior year extracurriculars, scholarships, academics and awards?

What are my chances for the following:
Yale
Princeton
Cornell
WashU
Rice
and top tier in general?

THANKS SO MUCH. :)

Definitely prime material for any college.

What YOU need, is passion in a specific field so that you can pour your heart out on the ESSAY which will MAKE or BREAK your chance @ any college listed above.

Essay is the most important thing for you.

Thanks! it’s just very hard to tell when so many people with such great stats aren’t getting into top tier schools. it’s pretty crazy nowadays.

Geez. You look amazing across the board. You have a good chance at all of your schools!
However since you’re mostly applying to Tier 1 schools (or only applying to Tier 1, from the looks of your list, which looks like it’s all Ivy League+ Washington U in St. Louis) it’s basically a “luck of the draw” with them. ie some you will get in, others you won’t.

Your stats all look great, but just be careful that you have some safeties on your list. These schools are unpredictable and it’s good to have a few sure things as backups (you could probably get great merit aid from them too).

There is something missing on your resume that many Ivy students have.

Yeah, I have some safeties that I will be applying to but I’m more curious about the top schools because those are definitely more “luck of the draw.”

@ geekorathletic - and what exactly is that thing that most ivy students have which you say I am missing? Hahah I am aware that I need something more “outstanding” that sets me apart but if you are referring to a specific element, then I would love to know…

Compare your resume to past results of accepted Ivy students, then you should be able to see it.
