By the way, I want to study Engineering in college. Is this a good college to study it at? Anything I need to improve? Should I retake SAT/SATIIs?

yea you should probably know whether or not it is a good school before you apply, and there are not any recommendations

I think your chance is quite high since your SAT & SAT II are pretty decent. Plus I heard that the UC system will be looking for more OOS in future years so that is good (not 100% sure, but all the discussion threads surely show that).

I wouldn’t be too worry that you would be rejected just b/c you didn’t take 2 AP classes since that would absolutely make no sense. Since the College of Engineering is impacted, there might be a chance that might not get in (like all admission, nothing is for sure), so just work really hard your senior year (keep continuing your EC, retake exams [if you’re confident that you’ll score better], and take rigorous courses).

Most importantly, work on your essays very early on so you have an idea what you want to say since after your submission, you might realize that you could have added something else that would have wowed the adcom :p! So work hard on your essays, early on if can so you can have it proofread, thus allowing additional positive changes! Sometimes the essay questions might puzzle you since you want to pick a good topic, thus seeing it early on will give you an amble amount of time to think about it.

Also, teacher & counselor recommendations are not considered on your application!

Good luck ^_^!

PS- I have not done my accurate research, but from how everyone is talking at CC, the College of Engineering is pretty known (or is just for EECS? I’m not entirely sure). Like I just stated, I’m not sure where Berkeley stands in Engineering, so you should do your own research.

try to do something semi-interesting your senior summer/fall with regards to extra curriculars. should really nail in better odds of getting in. i think you have a more than fair shot. good luck

Berkeley takes the SAT in one sitting, no superscore or just reading/math. Your application should be pretty solid. Those are a lot of ECs in my opinion as well. Solid chance.

Haha you’re very lucky that Berkeley doesn’t look at Freshman year, because those 4 B’s would have hurt you a lot. Thanks to this, your chances are very strong.

I’m sorry but I lol’d at “Counselor made an error and put me in Regular US History and Regular English.”

Thanks everyone! I knew Berkeley is a great school, I wanted to know about its engineering program in comparison to say University of Maryland or Carnegie Mellon, to see how good it is.

it is much better

^ has stanfurd always had a better engineering program than us? news to me

I’d actually say that it’s your GPA that’s a weakness and ECs that are strong.

Truth is: way too many people apply with great GPAs and ECs they’re not passionate about. My question for you is: of those few (slightly outside of usual) ECs, what do they mean to you and why are you doing them? Be sure they’re addressed in your essays.

Good luck!
