Cha Cha Chances (UCs)

Hi,

Sophomore Year:

Health: A (Not sure if this counts towards UC GPA)
World History Honors: B / A
Spanish Year 2 Honors: B / C
Physics Honors*: B / B
Math Analysis (Pre Calculus): C / C
English Honors: B / B

= UC Weighted

I took a rather rigorous course load and got about a 3.0 UC GPA. Yeah, I really messed up.

Summer After Sophomore:

AP Chem Prep: A

Junior Year:

AP Chemistry: A / B
English Honors: B / A
Statistics: A / A
U.S. History: B / A
Graphic Design: A / A
Virtual Business: A / A

= UC Weighted

This schedule was pretty easy, and it was to make up for my low GPA.

Summer After Junior:

Some Class At CC: A

Senior Classes:

Calculus At CC
AP English
Economics / Civics
Study Hall / Tennis
Virtual Business
This is a tentative schedule, something like that.

So UC GPA of: Can someone calculate this for me? I'm not sure. Probably around a 3.65 or something.

Frosh BBall 1 Year
JV Tennis 2 Years
Varsity Tennis 2 Years

Somewhat active in my church.

Ultimate Frisbee Club

President of Board Games Club

70 Hours Community Service
40 of those hours are in an impoverished foreign country building a house.

In State

Upward Trend

SAT: 1990
SAT II: Math 2 C: 630, Chemistry: 680

Responses would be greatly appreciated.

Please chance me for all UCs. Also, recommend me some other schools that I could apply to.

I'm guessing I'll major in business. Possibly, probably not, but maybe philosophy.

Can I get some chances / some other schools I can apply to?

I’d say…

UC Riverside n Merced no doubt

UC Irvine, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz pretty good chance

UCLA, Berkeley, Davis, SD? Idk man… WORK AT IT! SD and Davis you can get into with a lil more hard work!

I would also recommend another SAT II… Maybe… Bio? Idk.

yeah UCB, UCSD, and UCLA seem pretty hard for u to get in right now, but apply still. colleges prefer students that take rigorous classes and do so-so then students who take regular classes and get A’s. i have the same problem last semester for my sophomore year. bad grades. but im fixing it this semester with a 4.1 (ugh damn chemistry, it couldve been a 4.3) and taking 3 APs, 2 HNS, and photography next year.

i would also think about out of state schools. they may boost ur chance of getting in. Like DLKNOWHOW said, u have high chances in the schools he listed (with a little exception to santa barbara.)

Yeah, this is what I am thinking:

Berk / LA - Mega Reach - 2% - I won’t apply I don’t think
SD - High Reach - 8% - Maybe apply
SB / I / Davis - Low Reach - 40% chance I make one
SC - High Math - 90% in
R Safety - 99%
M Mega Safety - 99.9999999999999% probably wont even apply

that sounds abut right?

also what other colleges should i be looking at?

oh, i didn’t see your post socalsoccerdude, i am actually a sophomore right now, estimating all of that. but i think that’s a pretty good estimate.

should i maybe take a harder course load junior year?? cus i really want to get a high gpa that year to get an upward trend plus a decent gpa, + not work super hard and enjoy.

but the problem is apush is 2nd hardest ap at our school and redic hard, and honors is known to be about as hard as ap, everyone who took it just said to take ap or normal. and ap lang is known to be super hard, while honors i could get an A probably even both semesters

should i take Calc next year at CC???

i’m thinking about that maybe?? how hard would it be at CC, and with a C C in precalc, would it be that hard for me? could i get as or bs at cc? i would really like some input here? my current plan wat to take calc at cc my senior year to not mess up my gpa just in case. our hs doesn’t offer normal clac, or ap stats, only stats (a joke class) and ap calc (insane class).. so i don’t really know what to change? i think to get my highest uc gpa i would stick with my schedule

if i took calc at cc, thers a good one by, would it be that hard, and would it be UC wieghted?? cus i only have like 3 yaers of weighted, and i can have 4.

what do you think? would i have to take calc anyway in college? especially for business. should i just do it now? advice? remember i am just probably aiming for sb, i, and D, i would happily go to SC too. should i just stick with my current plan.
i am desperately confused.

also, what out of states should i be looking at?

possibly an openminded christian one maybe? probably not, but what out of staters should i look into?
