My best recs will be from my two mentors (researchers) @ the monkey farm -- I love working there and I think/[hope] it shows. I'll also be getting another rec from my AP Physics teacher, who's also advising our Inventeam. My counseler rec will be horrible, I KNOW it. I'm not just speculating, I know he has an unsavory opinion of me. But, I've no idea who to ask for my second teacher rec. Perhaps my Lit and Comp 12 teacher? (I transferred out of AP Lit - ugh, and it's such a shame too; the difference between LC12 and AP Lit, even in-person, is like night and day. The AP Lit teacher is probably the most intelligent in the school, and.. is very eloquent with words.
AHH, fudsticks!)

I'll probably also do Intel STS with my work at the Primate Center, likely involving a brain-volume segmentation of a scopolamine study..
and plan to take AP CS AB. Would anyone even know I'm self studying CSAB, or if I passed the AMC 12?

I suppose either Carnegie Mellon CIT or SCS then. I haven't really looked at Carnegie Mellon much until recently, due to my plummeting trend in grades and my incredibly competitive class (our valedictorian and salutatorian are guaranteed for Harvard/MIT for sure - but I won't elaborate). I know the Bs and Cs in junior year S2 will sting. I was once one of those "Hey! I'm gunna go to MIT wooooooop" kids and now I'm looking for some more realistic college goals.

Any suggestions? :D

SAT scores look fine. The class rank is a little lower than the average applicant, but I know you pointed out how strong your class is. If your school is a well-known elite school (close or in the same category as TJ or Stuy), then top 20% would look excellent. Beyond that I'd say your ECs look great and your chances seem strong, though be aware that admission to SCS is significantly more competitive than to CIT.
