Oh, btw, my major will be either comparative literature or east asian studies.

intend to major in comparative lit or east asian studies

Umm, 1600 out of 2400? Or out of 1600? Because with a 1600 out of 2400, you have almost no chance for admission.

I got a 30 on my ACT and a low score on my SAT (I want to say 1800s or 1900s...can't really remember...). Doesn't Northwestern take the best of either test?

Unfortunately if you don't want them to see the bad SAT score, you may just have to send the ACT. My D's ACT score was much better than her SAT I (the test was given at a horrible time). She never sent SAT IIs (because then they would have seen the SAT I) and got in ED. With those good SAT II's, however, you may want to send the SAT and just hope that they realize that the SAT I was a fluke. It certainly does not correlate with the other scores.
