and i consider my essays to be somewhat strong.

so again ....WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF GETTING INTO CALS

Notice that those in the 3rd and 4th 10%, which is where you stand have a 4.8% of acceptance. I know I wouldn't have gotten in if I had your stats. sorry to tell you.

Im sry to tell you but dont expect a "Congratulations" although you might get one, cuz ur GPA and SAT are below avg. And I don't see whats special about ur ECs. Being an azn definitely doesnt help in the admission process and i thought they hated it when ppl attach their resumes?

Did you take the ACT? If you got 30 or above on that, you have a fairly good chance, but with one of your SATs in the 500s (red zone) it will be hard.

ugh it annoys me how being Asian is going to hurt you in the long-run, it's so stupid...i know colleges can't be completely race blind, but let's be honest, certain ethnic groups have an easier time getting in. Whatever, im south asian and i'm proud to say that I don't need to rely on affirmative action to get me into college

anyway, to answer your question about the regents, I don't think they're really going to take it into account that much, esp since they're considered easy tests...but good job on chem, i only got like a 88 on that one

A benefit of high regents scores: You might qualify for some NYS merit scholarship. At least at my school, they gave the person with the highest average score something like $1500/yr, and they gave a few others $500/yr.

I think you have a pretty low chance. i also looked put your stats into the academic index calculator, and it came out with 192. i don't know - maybe they'll see something in your application that i didnt

I got in ED, but my SATs were pretty low (CR: 600, M:610, W:600), but I some how manage to get a 30 on the ACTs which is right in Cornell's middle 50%. And I'm also ranked 14/338. I think you should at least try. You never know you could be what they're looking for. Good luck.
