Thanks guys!

Your ECs and scores are both solid. Good job on those! However, what may keep you out of a top university is your class rank. If your school is indeed large and public, being in the top 8%–while good–is not nearly Harvard/Columbia/Penn material. Anyone I’ve ever known who got into any of those three schools was ranked in at least the top 3% at my high school (also large, also public). I know nothing about W&M or Tufts, but you look like you have a decent chance at Rice.

I think your are overqualified for some of your schools, and definitely Harvard/Yale/Penn material. I do think that your overall package makes up for your lack of a “Hook”.

Boys Nation, huh? Congrats.

Great test scores and ECs, but the unweighted GPA is on the low side. Perhaps your school has a good amount of grade deflation? Unfortunately, I think you do lack some concrete hook, but that doesn’t kill your chances completely for Harvard.

As a whole, I’d say you’re in to all the schools you listed aside from Penn, Columbia, Duke and Harvard, with the former 3 being low reaches.

Do you go to TJ? You sound like you do.

nope. because of my amazing math/science grades?

I’m very much a humanities kind of guy (winning departmental awards, going to a special program for the social sciences).

I live near (but do not go to, having been rejected) Maggie Walker.

I’ll take it as a compliment though!

One edit I want to make though, is in course rigor. Freshman year I took honors/aps for 5 of my 7 classes, not 5 honors and 7 APs, I just realized that might be confusing!

You have a very good chance at all of these schools. Your ECs are amazing! If I were you I would retake the SAT IIs because to my viewpoint that is currently the weakest point of your application. Good luck!

Wow, your ECs and Internships are really good, as well as your GPA and SAT. Honestly, I don’t see too much wrong with your application. Congrats on all of the hard work!!

Yeah so everything is good except for your unweighted GPA (which is still okay). Also, except for Boys’ Nation, which is awesome, your ec’s are mediocre; hopefully as you are a senior you’ll get a load of leadership which will balance that out.

Harvard: High reach! (for anybody it’s tough, but your GPA may set you back a tad)
Columbia: Reach
UPenn - High-ish reach
Johns Hopkins - High match
Duke - Reach
UChicago - High match
Rice - Low match
Tufts - In
William and Mary (IS) - Basically in
UVA (IS) - Low match

yeah i would say ur SAT is golden, along with ECs. I would say UVA and William are safety schools and the rest are low reach.

Great overall stats! However I am curious about your SAT : GPA comparison. I see that you took the hardest schedule and it’s obviously very hard to crank straight A’s, although it is possible. Do you go to a academically rigorous school by any chance (Stuyvesent, selective magnet school, Private/Boarding school?)

^ I go to a selective magnet “center” within a public school. Its pretty competitive (11% acceptance rate) and about 80% each year go to UVA or William and Mary

I’d say you stand a shot at all of those schools. Just remember that Harvard is kind of a crap shoot for everybody, but your SAT and ECs put you in the running

I think you have a very good chance at Hopkins, William and Mary, UVA, Rice, and UChicago.

The rest are reaches–but they are reaches for everybody…try to bring out passion(for politics maybe?) in your essays which will definitely bump your chances!!

Great SAT I scores and although your SAT II Math is low, it’s probably no big deal if you’re more into humanities. Your GPA is low, but if your school is very competitive this probably isn’t a big deal either. Your ECs are great now but once you get those leadership positions they’ll be even better. Despite your good stats, there will be lots of applicants like you, so your fate at the top schools will depend on essays/recs. Good Luck:)
Chances-
Reach-Harvard, Columbia, Duke
Slight Reach-UPenn, Johns Hopkins, UChicago
Match-Rice, Tufts, William and Mary, UVA

just go to uva youre instate and youll get in and that school is nicer than every single ivy or any other school in this country for that matter.

Pretty much a great resume. but, like many others, your GPA and class rank is a little low. However, your other activities and test scores might just out-weigh your negatives. the only colleges i can see that you might have problems with are chicago and duke, but a deference is probably the worst you will get, if that…
