You obviously have what it takes to make it into an Ivy League school. You might have some trouble with Yale (your weighed GPA is high, but nothing an IB student can’t match, and your SAT scores could be higher), but as far as Columbia, Cornell, Brown, NYU, and UPenn go, you’re completely fine.

I think you should bet your money on Brown at highest, though Cornell, Upenn, and NYU seem much more likely.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you got into a middle or upper tier ivy.

Wow thanks. I’m soooo relieved. Anyone else? Thank you thank you thank you.
Also, I’m pretty sure I’m applying to Columbia ED, would that be good?

Columbia (ED) - reach
NYU - match
Brown - reach
Georgetown - match
Yale - reach
Cornell - high match
BC - safety
BU - safety
Tufts - match
Williams - high match
Carleton - low match
Bard - don’t know
Rice - match
UPenn - reach

Your under 700 CR score will hurt you. I know many people with similar stats and ECs as you and were dinged at all the Ivys. And it gets more and more competitive every year.

My breakdown:

Area: Could be a plus or a minus, considering that you are in proximity to many colleges to which you wish to apply. (Prepositions must not end the sentence! Lol)

Ethnicity: Asian females are the most disadvantaged groups in the admissions office, considering that 4% of the US population is Asian, but 20% of our college attendees are Asian. In addition, females have a higher rate of attending colleges and outnumber men in many institutions. Double Whammy. (I would know, I am one)

GPA: Solid, considering classes

Standardized Testing: I suggest taking another shot at the SATII, along with your SATs (at different dates, of course). At my school, taking a language test for one’s own native language was discouraged because it did not demonstrate our own academic accomplishments, mainly aimed at our Koreans and Latinos.

Senior year: Solid, but avoid B+s.

ECs: Definitely your strongest point, besides your GPAs. However, the activity list is without much FOCUS. In your application, cut down the list of activities to the few that matters to you the most. You are definitely a community leader, but keep in mind that many people applying to the institutions may represent a higher area of concentration, such as state-wide, nation-wide, or international.

Awards: Again, fair community-wise.

Bump :)

Bump? 10char

list looks good! higher ivies may be a reach (as they are for everyone)

Chance Me Back!

Hi, good stuff all around. Here is what I think:
Columbia (ED) - low reach if ED, otherwise reach.
NYU - match
Brown - low reach
Georgetown - high match
Yale - reach
Cornell - high match
BC - low match.
BU - safety
Tufts - match
Williams - low reach
Carleton - match
Bard - in
Rice - match to high match.
UPenn - low reach to reach.

Chance back?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/748339-chances-top-schools-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Samsun has it right. Lots of B’s for top schools and suburban CT is a brutally competitive pool.

Columbia (ED) - reach
NYU - high match
Brown - low reach
Georgetown - high match
Yale - high reach
Cornell - high match
UPenn - reach.

Chance Back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/745578-what-colleges-should-asian-germany-look-chance-back.html</a></p>

Bump~~~~~~~~

honest question, why do you think they would want to admit you?

Because I will not settle for less.
Haha no

I don’t exactly know how to answer that. I don’t expect any school to admit me out of that. But hopefully I have what they look for

Is not what I have good enough? This, too, is an honest question.

Columbia (ED) - low reach if ED, otherwise reach.
NYU - match
Brown - low reach
Georgetown - high match
Yale - reach
Cornell - high match
BC - low match.
BU - safety
Tufts - match
Williams - low reach
Carleton - match
Bard - in
Rice - match to high match.
UPenn - low reach to reach.

I agree with these decisions.

Chance me back!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/746446-chance-me-colleges-i-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Please people, look at the facts before you post absurd odds. How is Brown possibly a ‘low reach’?

[Brown Admission: Facts & Figures](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

Well I’m sure all Ivy Leauges are reach for me haha, since I’m not like, PERFECT…but hey, faith is important in this process haha
And luck.

Bumping~~~

amazing stats! i wouldn’t consider any of these schools out of reach, however, cornell yale and columbia seem to be practically arbitrary when it comes to narrowing down the top candidates. With Georgetown, NYU, BC and BU, I have seen far less qualified candidates be accepted.

CHANCE BACK! [=
