P.S.: Are optional essays really optional?
-Thanks

great upward trend, and i suspect your senior year will raise the bar even higher. yes, optional essays are really optional, but with your relatively low gpa you should definitely answer them. maybe talk about baseball or your job experiences? with good essays, you may be able to make up for the gpa. good luck!

You seem to have very good chances at every single school you listed. Based on their statistics and yours, I think you might very well be accepted to all of them.
Good luck!

Ok you’re definately in for Ohio State. I know people with half your GPA that got into that school. Keep in mind that its huge and they accept a fairly good amount of people, with many using it as a safety. Penn state might be a slight reach, but you have a good shot with that SAT score as long as you raise the grades. And the rest I’m not familiar with. But good luck!

Most of those colleges, you should confidently apply to. Your chances into getting into them are pretty high.

I would, in your case, go to [:: College Planning Made Easy | Inside Source for College Admissions Requirements](http://www.collegeboard.com) and look up the colleges and check out their average GPA/SAT scores and see what they look at.

If you have the extra time, go to their college websites and look at their freshman profile of 2009, too.

wow, your grade trend really is better, but it’s still not like… impressive. IDK, it would seem to suggest that you’re in good classes not to be legit interested in them, but just cause it looks good? maybe this is how colleges interpret, i guess :

I think all are matches except for Penn State and UPitt, but i might be wrong (not very confident in my knowledge of those)

i would say in to everything, grades and sat are great, but ecs are lacking, you might want to try and apply to some reach schools like bucknell and upenn and cornell

I think your upward grade trend should get you into a few of these schools. As other posters have implied, make sure you do any optional essays. It certainly will show that you are interested to adcoms.
