Race: black/chinese.(i know. lol)
try not considering this.

SCEA HOPEFUL. Im going to retake SAT II on october and SAT I on November. HOpefully I can still send in the scores.

i’ve always thought black/chinese was the coolest race combo. do you look more black or chinese? do you have an afro? (excuse me, mixed races fascinates me lol)

anyways, SAT/GPA is strong and competitive, and your mixed background is definitely a plus. i’m no admissions officer but that ethnic mix is so diverse in itself–don’t hesitate to check off both black and chinese, if you’re thinking they might cancel each other out (i’m sure they’d be able to tell by one of your parent’s names anyways).

your ECs seem unfocused and have a lack of depth. is VP the only leadership position you have in those clubs? you seem to have done a lot of volunteer work as well as volunteer work within the sciences, so focus on your service to the community as well as the sciences, if that’s what you’re really interested in.

@chair2, i dont know what you mean by lacking passion? am i supposed to win an award in these events to show passion? I mean I was in most of them for four years, showing that I am passionate about staying in the activity.

You’re ECs are pretty impressive… although if you’re applying for SCEA it explicitly says on the website that the latest is Oct for SATs. I know quite a few people personally who got in with SAT scores like yours (just shy of 2200)

You might wanna focus on your work for health/cancer related stuff in your essays. That seems to be your passion from what I see :)

are you sure the November SAT I is okay for Stanford? That sounds a bit late, but check up on that. Definitely check off Black/Chinese. Stanford loves blacks and hispanics. That’s an automatic +10% to your admissions chances.

Keep the Asian part secret, and you could get into the UC schools without a problem if you retake the SAT I and II.
Stanford could be possible if they think you’re black. Just talk about how your hardship with the loss of Tupac and you’re be a shoo-in…jk.
If you work on getting your class rank, up you could have many great opportunities.
