Thanks- post your link so i can chance you!

Not sure about specifics of these schools, but what is your class rank? I think that does count as a first generation, it depends on if America recognizes her degree I’d think, and speaking 2 languages (almost 3 with Spanish) is an interesting hook that could help you. Are you trying to be recruited, that’s also a great addition to your app. Try to join a club or two to show a bit more well-roundedness.

Are you an immigrant yourself, or are your parents immigrants? And your mother’s completion of college does count in the US. There are decent institutions outside of the United States, you know.

Despite the fact that your school is one of the toughest in CT, it still doesn’t justify a 3.1 GPA, especially since your SAT scores aren’t exactly astronomical. You have weak-to-good ECs, but they should be enough to carry you at some of the schools you’re applying to.

Here are my chances:

On a scale of 1-10 (10=highest; 1=lowest)

University of Vermont: 9.5 (brother was accepted with stats very similar to yours)
University of New Hampshire: 7
Quinnipiac University: 6
University of Connecticut: 8
Drexel University: 8
Ithica College: 9
Marist College: not too sure; I won’t take the risk of chancing you when I know nothing lol
Fairfield University: same as above

Remember, I’m not a college admissions officer. Just a bored 17 year old trying to avoid her term paper.
Take whatever I said with a grain of salt. Maybe two or three.

I was born here in the US. thanks. My top choices right now are Ithica and Uconn.

Ithaca*(I would make sure you spell it correctly if you truly consider applying there haha) is not a very selective school. I would consider it a match for you, even with your current SAT scores, which fall within their median range. Have you visited the campus? If not, I would certainly visit it (unless this is not feasible) because I found the campus to be lackluster to say the least. This could quite possibly be because I had just visited Cornell the day prior to visiting Ithaca. Nonetheless, I would certainly consider Ithaca a school well within your reach. Although I do like Uconn, mainly because of their basketball teams, I am not well informed regarding their admission statistics.

Oh, and another thing, I’m not so sure that I would list “weightlifting” as an EC unless you do it competitively.

thanks. any more help?
