Chance a Black Kid from Arkansas

I'm new to this site and have seen many chance threads so I figured I'd make one as well. Stanford has always been one of my top choices and now that I'll be a senior, it's finally time to apply. Any chances or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, your stats seem fine. And you have quite a number of EC’s. Are there any that you’re particularly passionate in? Passion is better than just a long list.

But that’s just me. I could be wrong.

I agree with skyraptor. Passion, passion, passion. Lists don’t do too much with Stanford - at least that was my experience. Show them why you are different, what makes you who you are.

I don’t think you need to retake your SATs… once you reach a certain score, it doesn’t seem to make much difference - 2310 versus 2360, mmm not much difference. Very little room to improve.

Your stats are obv. great, so focus on superb essays. You want to be more than just numbers and awards.

You are a extremely strong URM, this gives a great boost to your application

URM + rank, test scores, leadership = in. good job if this is legit

lol at the tag hahaha

ull make it dont worry

Write decent essays and you’re in. Great app!

Aberdeen and skyraptor have it exactly right. Unlike some schools, Stanford is not looking for kids with great grades and a laundry list of random EC’s. Instead, they want kids who are passionate about something in particular. If you can write a couple great essays that explain why you are set apart and what your passion is/why you’re different from the rest of the applicant pool, then you’re in for sure. However, if you don’t, then no guarantees.
