High match! Your SAT score and ECs are excellent. As everyone already said, the GPA is a little low. But you definitely made up for it. Good luck!

I agree with almost everyone here. I’d call it a high match to a low reach. Your scores, extracurriculars, and other qualifications seem totally in line with a solid duke applicant. Your GPA, as some people had mentioned, is a little on the low side but is in no way detrimental to your application.

As I’m sure you know (better than most of us here), duke is unbelievably competitive and people with worse stats have been accepted and people with better stats have been rejected.

Beyond that, good luck. You’ve done all you can and I’d say there’s no reason you shouldn’t get in. Hopefully the admissions officers see similarly. Good luck!

Probably about the average chance, essays notwithstanding. I’m really strapped for time so I’ll be sure to revisit this later and give you more detailed feedback.

High Match/Low Reach
Everything is solid. Rigor of course-load and post-curriculum classes should at least make up for the GPA. I’d say you have a good chance of getting in with the rec from the Duke alum and the internships. Good luck, and thanks for chancing me!

High Match, your SAT is a little low but considering that almost all of those classes are APs that in other schools would be 5.0s, I’m sure they’ll take that into account. Your classes are also ridiculously rigorous. Your ECs are good, not fantastic, but being varsity in a sport helps with that. Is there any chance you’d be recruited? Maybe talk to the coach. Duke is a tough school, but I’d say you have a pretty good chance.

I think you have an amazing shot at Duke, just remember to speak of those EC’s very critically in the Activities section and choose the most important ones that reflect you and are unique. Good luck.

Low reach; Your GPA is a tad low for Duke, but your test scores are great. Your ECs are good and some of them stand out, so I think you have a pretty good chance. Good luck!

I would err on the side of low reach as well, but only because it is Duke. Honestly I think you have a better shot than the majority of the applicants. (Sorry 11scooter)

Duke University: Deferred. Your stats are good, but so is everyone else who is applying to Duke. I just don’t see something that is just so amazingly unique in your application that would make you a definite ‘yes,’ but that is not to say that you are not a qualified candidate, or even a good one at it. The fact that you are Indian sadly does not help; this only makes it more difficult for you. However, your extracurriculars seem pretty strong and this should be recognized by the admissions committee, leading to a deferral rather than immediate admission or rejection. Nevertheless, I am optimistic about your near future, whether that constitutes an acceptance letter from Duke or somewhere else.

Congratulations on all your hard work throughout HS, I’d say high match/low reach for you at an amazing school-I hope you get in! Best of luck to you
