Chance a brotha please?

Hey guys. I messed up pretty badly my freshman year, but oh well. By the way, I'm only a junior. I would be applying to the civil engineering program. Would ya'll recommend any other schools to me as well? So far I have UMass, WPI, Rutgers, Drexel, UT Austin, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, Virginia Tech and NYU Poly.

Based on my limited experience with my son applying to UMass last year for engineering, I would say you have a really good shot at getting in. When we visited during an Open House, they us that for consideration for engineering you needed a 3.5 GPA.

What state are you from? What types of colleges are you looking for? You have quite a varied list.

@ConfusedMominMA I am from Massachusetts. I am looking for a big school with a good engineering school.

Don’t take it for gospel but I think some of the Midwest schools that are big and have good engineering programs would be Purdue, Ohio State, Michigan. I’m sure others know more schools than I do. Of course UMass does have a great eng school and most likely would be cheaper for you being instate.

You are definitely a great candidate for the school. You might even be accepted into the honors college if you keep up the good work! (There is an interesting Engineering residential academic program in the honors dorms too). The honors dorms are AMAZING
