I'm quite a good writer, so my essays should help me out. I'm concerned mainly for my grades and activities, which appear to be lackluster compared to some people's. I explained this situation in my Common App. essay: football was a huge part of my life during my freshman and sophomore years, so I got a late start in applying myself toward preparing to apply to elite institutions like Princeton. Also, I come from a single-parent home. My mom was the first in her family to go to college, and she went to night school at a local college; clearly, I didn't have the advantage of knowing all the tricks of the trade in regard to getting into a good school.

Thanks a bunch.
