<p>Schools to Chance For: (You don't have to do all of them, I know it's a lot and will eventually whittle it down... maybe...)
Georgetown
Princeton
Stanford
Vanderbilt
UNC-CH
UVA
Univ. of Alabama (for Merit Scholarships/Honors)
Auburn (for honors/add'l scholarships)
American
Wake Forest
Wheaton
Pepperdine
Southern Methodist Univ (for Merit Scholarships)</p>

<p>Georgetown: Maybe
Princeton: Probably not. Your standardized test scores are a bit low.
Stanford: Same as Princeton
Vanderbilt: Possibly
UNC: Maybe
UVA: Maybe
Alabama: I think you may be able to get some form of merit scholarship.
Auburn: Same as Alabama
Wake-Forest: Good Chance
Wheaton: Probably
Pepperdine: Probably
SMU: I think you have a good shot at getting some scholarships. </p>

<p>Your GPA is high and your extra curricular activities are outstanding. Unfortunately, your standardized tests are pretty poor.</p>

<p>If you look at this: [Princeton</a> University | Admission Statistics](<a href=“http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/admission_statistics/]Princeton”>http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/admission_statistics/)</p>

<p>you will see that people with your SAT score only get into Princeton about 4.6% of the time. This percentage is probably made up of URMs and student-athletes. I assume Stanford will be about the same. </p>

<p>Since your GPA and EC’s are great, I highly suggest you consider applying to some schools such as Emory, Rice, and Cornell. If you truly want to remain in the competition for HYPSM, you MUST get your SATs up. </p>

<p>Chance me back! <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1158525-chance-me-brown-ed.html[/url]”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1158525-chance-me-brown-ed.html&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>Do/make/participate in something exceptional if you get a chance. I say that in pretty much every post haha.</p>

<p>Your SAT scores are low for a lot of those schools. And while I still think you should apply to all of them, SAT I/ACT and SAT II need to go up for a lot of them. </p>

<p>Since I know from experience that it’s possible to bring SAT scores up 150-200 or more points with practice I’m going to double chance you for each school. If you bring SAT I up to 2150/ACT up to 33,34 or so or so and SAT IIs up to 700+: Current chance/Higher score chance</p>

<p>Schools to Chance For:
Georgetown: Mid to High Reach/High Match to Low Reach
Princeton: Mid to High Reach/Mid to High Reach
Stanford: Mid to High Reach/Mid to High Reach
Vanderbilt: High Match to Low Reach/Mid to High Match
UNC-CH: In state or out of state?
UVA: In state or out of state?
Univ. of Alabama (for Merit Scholarships/Honors): Safety without merit scholarships/honors either way, but i don’t know what the requirements for scholarships and honors are
Auburn (for honors/add’l scholarships): No idea
Wake Forest: Mid to High Reach/Mid-High Match
Wheaton: No idea
Pepperdine: No idea
Southern Methodist Univ (for Merit Scholarships): No idea</p>

<p>the only thing i see right now is the slightly low SAT score…if it goes up your chances at all the schools listed will go up too.</p>

<p>your ECs are definitely centered around your journalism/politics focus, which is good. </p>

<p>Schools to Chance For (assuming a slightly higher SAT):
Georgetown: mid-high reach
Princeton: high reach (it’s this way for everyone haha)
Stanford: high reach (same for everyone)
Vanderbilt: high match
UNC-CH: high match (i think haha)
UVA: high match/low reach
Univ. of Alabama (for Merit Scholarships/Honors): safety
Auburn (for honors/add’l scholarships): no idea, sorry
Wake Forest: mid reach
Wheaton: no idea, sorry
Pepperdine: match, i think (i did some quick research on average stats)
Southern Methodist Univ (for Merit Scholarships): match, i think</p>

<p>Your extracurriculars seem good given your prospective major. The SAT scores need to increase dramatically though, or else your GPA may be seen as the result of grade inflation. Your SAT IIs are also not great. I would say Princeton and Stanford are very high reaches, and Georgetown, Vanderbilt, Chapel Hill, and Virginia (especially out of state for UVA and UNC) are also reaches. Alabama, Auburn, and Pepperdine (?) are safeties. Wake Forest, Wheaton, and SMU are matches.</p>

<p>also keep in mind that i believe at wake forest, test scores are optional. so if you cant get them up, thats definitely worth looking into.</p>

<p>Your extracurricular activities and GPA are amazing. The ivies are a reach for everyone. However, you have a good shot at them. If you get your SAT scores up you will increase your chances greatly. </p>

<p>Good luck with the application!!!</p>

<p>Just work on that SAT score and your chances will go up
But for now:</p>

<p>Georgetown - mid reach
Princeton - very high reach
Stanford - very high reach
Vanderbilt - mid reach
UNC-CH - mid reach
UVA - high reach
Univ. of Alabama (for Merit Scholarships/Honors) - mid/high match
Auburn (for honors/add’l scholarships) - mid/high match
American - low reach
Wake Forest - high match
Wheaton - match
Pepperdine- match
Southern Methodist Univ (for Merit Scholarships) - match</p>

<p>Georgetown: probably a reach considering your SAT score
Princeton: probably not considering your SAT score is below Princeton’s average 25th percentile
Stanford: see Georgetown
Vanderbilt: maybe a high match
UNC-CH: because you’re out of state, it’s iffy
UVA: same as UNC-CH, but a higher acceptance chance probably
Alabama, Auburn, WF, Wheaton, Pepperdine, & SMU: likely acceptance</p>

<p>However, if you get that SAT score up a bit, doors will open for you, I promise.</p>

<p>UNC-CH reserves 82% of each incoming class for in-state applicants, so your chances might be a bit lower than previously stated</p>

<p>Thanks so much for all of your responses. What SAT score should I be shooting for?</p>

<p>Your test scores are really low. Bring those up and you have decent chances. Try to get all A’s in senior year, too.</p>

<p>Okay, so your scores are a bit of a hot mess… you really should study this summer, i studied 60 hours and got a 2260, which is not stellar, but acceptable at the ivies</p>

<p>Georgetown - low to mid reach
Princeton - high reach
Stanford - high reach
Vanderbilt - low to mid reach
UNC-CH - out of state: low to mid reach
UVA - out of state: low to mid reach
Univ. of Alabama (for Merit Scholarships/Honors): You should get some scholarships, especially with better test scores
Auburn (for honors/add’l scholarships) - you’ll get honors no doubt, especially with better test scores
American - match
Wake Forest - low reach/high match, especially coming from nevada, which is no doubt a desired state by admissions offices
Wheaton - match
Pepperdine - match
Southern Methodist Univ (for Merit Scholarships) - you’ll probs get some scholarships</p>

<p>Like i said, get at least a 32 or 33 or above a 2200 and you should have a much better chance at all of these schools</p>

<p>I don’t think it helped much, but I got
my SAT scores back for June. It went down overall, but my new superstore is a 2040;
CR:710 M:660 W:670.</p>

<p>Georgetown - has chance, but not sure
Princeton - high-reach
Stanford - high-reach
Vanderbilt - high-reach
UNC-CH - match
UVA - mid-reach
Univ. of Alabama (for Merit Scholarships/Honors) -very low safety
Auburn (for honors/add’l scholarships) - same as above
American - safety
Wake Forest - mid to high match
Wheaton - match
Pepperdine - match
Southern Methodist Univ (for Merit Scholarships) - IDK this school, but since you wrote “for Merit Scholarships”, I am guessing safety</p>

<p>Try to bring up your SAT scores, or try the ACT’s! Oh, and if you are a minority, I think you have very good chances to all schools you have aforementioned.</p>

<p>Your resume is extremely impressive and hopefully your essays will reflect your passions. With a resume this spectacular, you NEED to talk about WHY you are passionate about the things you love and HOW you got to that point - that will ultimately bolster your application overall.</p>

<p>Your SAT scores are very decent and I would NOT be discouraged by the posts you have seen here. Very commendable scores given your BUSY schedule and impressive resume. If your SAT scores are on the “low” side for Top 25 universities, you will offset them with the amazing things you have done thus far. Obviously you are working hard to bring them up, so continue to do that, but I would not worry too much. Just take it easy. If you’re saying that I’m in the minority and I don’t count, that’s you, but I think you know very well that you are very capable of getting into your reach school with a stellar essay highlighting your passions and reflecting upon your interests.</p>

<p>BEST of luck to you!</p>

<p>What SAT/ACT score can I reasonably shoot for a Sept./oct. Test date?</p>

<p>Hello? Any updates since I got a new SAT score? How about additional schools I should be looking into?</p>

<p>Very weak academics for Princeton and Stanford.</p>

<p>Accepted to Auburn, Bama, and SMU with scholarships at all three.</p>
