Hey guys, I thought it'd be much more accurate to ask for my chances on the college forum then the overcrowded, crazy*ss "What are my Chances" forum haha.

Gender: M
Ethnicity: Asian

SAT: 2310
SAT II's: Math II (800), Chem (750)
AP's: Chem (4), Psych (5), Stats (5)

Senior Year Schedule:
AP English (W)
Govt/Econ
AP Physics B (W)
Finite/Discrete Math (W)
AP Calculus AB (W)
Digital Imaging

EC's:

-DECA States Comp(ranked 8th place)

Probably gonna apply for a community college course over summer as well. Will my test grades overshadow the GPA issues (esp. considering that my courses are pretty difficult and there's a upward trend)?

@Anongirl94: They still accepted you with that D, so I believe that UCSB won’t care either way. It might look better if you make it up before sending in transcripts, but it’s April already - a little late for that… >.>
Check with your school, specifically. A D is considered not passing a class, and if you don’t pass all of your graduation requirements, you won’t get your HS Diploma. If the class that you got the D doesn’t take away from your grad. requirements, you should be fine.
I highly advise you to talk to your counselor, just in case. Words typed by my fingers don’t have the power of law - sadly - so I could be completely wrong about this.

Hey,
I just got in. I had almost exactly the same situation as you (except i got 800 on chem and 750 on math II haha) - top top test scores but mediocre grades. I’m into the honors program so I assume i was in by a wide margin. With pretty much the same numbers I’m sure you’ll be fine as long as your essay doesn’t involve discussing your aptitude for larceny or something.

The kid has much better SAT credentials than I do, and I’m Honors Comp. Eng. His second semester junior year GPA is also better than mine is right now as a senior (and I’m getting the best grades I’ve ever gotten in my life right now).
