Chance a Confused Texan surrounded by negative people

can anyone think of other colleges i should apply to?

can anyone chance me on the scholarships? i need a full ride pretty much wherever i go.

Do you happen to live in Mesquite :P?

oh no, did my name give it away? drats!;)

Does ANYBODy have ANY clue about ANY of the scholarships i am applying for? or can ANYone suggest ANY other schools/scholarships i should go after?

no one knows about scholarships??

bummmmmmmmmppp

the daily bump

Why not MIT if you want mechanical engineering? (They’ve beefed up their humanities, and you can always take classes at Wellesley if you want the real thing. ) Swarthmore has engineering–not sure what types, but a quick visit to the web site would tell you–and super liberal arts. Olin is free if you get in and also has cross-registration with Wellesley.

i believe MIT requires a science SAT II and i have not prepped/taken classes that would prepare me for them. i took a practice chem - bombed it. oh and my bro got rejected from there with better stats than me, although i guess being a girl might help me. Swarthmore just isnt my type of school - i looked into it. is wellesey an all girls school? and what/were is Olin?:)

My older sis applied last year (from tx) with comparable but lower stats than you and got an interview with harvard. They put her on the waiting list but she ended up attending Wash U. She got straight up rejected from MIT/Caltech with a ~2300. Full ride to UMiami, half ride to USC. You’re bound to get some scholarships if not a full ride for the last 5 you have listed on there.

If you have time, chance me! Thx

thanks for the chances. yeah, my bro got rejected from MIT. but he took comfort in the fact that the person in charge of their admissions faked her college degrees lol!!

Wellesley is indeed a women’s college. I wasn’t recommending it for you, because it doesn’t have engineering majors. It does have cross-registration programs with MIT and Olin. Olin is a recently-founded, highly regarded and unusual engineering school in Massachusetts. You might want to check it out.

Have you looked at Carnegie Mellon?

no. i know their engineering program is quite prestigious though. the main issue is scholarship. and of course the school environment.

ooooooohhhh im so excited and nervous. i have interviews with harvard and rice very soon. any advice anyone???

harvard interview monday! any tips?

Ever consider cambridge or oxford?

lol!!! yes i did for a while, just so i could possibly (VERY slim chance) get in, and if i turned them down, it would tick off the clueless headmaster of my school, since he is british. i don’t like him very much.
