Also, my ACT essay was rather low. However my SAT essay was relatively high. Will colleges acknowledge that I am still a strong writer. The ACT prompt was about using GPS tracking on children. It was not very "writer-friendly" in my perspective. Do colleges focus heavily upon the ACT essay score? Also, should I submit both tests or just one of them? Thank you

Your GPA is amazing and your ECs are awesome, however you should really work on getting your SAT/ACT scores up! As long as you’ve taken the hardest possible curriculum available and write an amazing essay which will show them you’re a good writer, I think you’ll get in!

lexieam is right. GPA and class rank look stellar. SAT/ACT scores could do with a little improvement.

If you want to decide on which test score to send, here’s a conversion chart between the two tests: [SAT-ACT Conversion chart](http://teachers.sduhsd.k12.ca.us/lccounseling/sat-act_conversion_chart.htm)

As I mentioned many times, every competitive applicant has strong academic records just as much as you do. What will help you is if you set your self apart from everybody else. This comes in your recommendations, extracurriculars, and essay. Best of luck.

Thank you! I feel that any ivy is a challenge to be admitted. However, which test should I submit to Cornell? I feel that my ACT is worth sending but that my 6 essay may hurt me big time. But if I submit my SAT my essay is a 10(twice) but my CR plus Math is low. Although my writing is somewhat high.

Writing essay is nowhere near as important as total ACT composite / SAT CR + M. If you can get 100 more pts. on SAT or 1 more point on ACT I think you’d have a pretty decent chance.

Do you think I still have a chance looking at where I stand as of right now?

Yes, it’s worth applying where you stand right now. Especially if you have a great essay and great recs. (Everyone thinks they write a great essay, so I won’t ask).

Which college are you thinking of applying to?

College of Arts and Sciences. I will major in either Economics or Computer Science. How do you feel this effects my chances?

Here are some stats.

…as you can see A & S has the second highest admit scores on SAT / ACT, you are well below the 25th percentile in both CR & M on the SAT but at the 25 th percentile on the ACT.
