Interested in
Franklin & Marshall
Dickinson
Gettysburg
Ursinus
Bryn Mawr
Wesleyan
Penn State University Park
Any other recommendations? Preferably liberal arts colleges.

Franklin & Marshall- match
Dickinson- match
Gettysburg- match
Ursinus- low match
Bryn Mawr- high match (definately interview!)
Wesleyan- reach
Penn State University Park- in for sure

A good reach school might be Haverford College, which is in a consortium with Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore. Other good recommendations that are all women’s like BMC are Smith College and Mt. Holyoke College.

i’m fairly certain you have a great shot at all of them

quick question though: how’d you improve your writing section on the SAT so drastically?

Except for Wesleyan, you are a solid applicant for all of the schools listed and will probably get in to most of them

gregb: I think my first writing score was a complete anomaly. I was expecting a 700+ when I went into it since I got about a 670-680 both times I took the PSAT and about 750+ on my SAT practice tests. I must have just had a bad day the first time because I didn’t really do anything to improve.

claire: Thanks for the input. I didn’t really like Haverford, but I’m visiting Bryn Mawr tomorrow.

Any other recommendations?

Franklin & Marshall - Match
Dickinson - Match
Gettysburg - Match
Ursinus - Safety
Bryn Mawr - Reach
Wesleyan - Reach
Penn State University Park - Match

I would recommend that you look into Kalamazoo College in Michigan, DePauw in Indiana, and Guilford College in North Carolina. All are excellent schools know to send graduates to excellent grad schools. But I’m biased because my sister goes to Kalamazoo (and loves it).

Good luck in the process. You are definitely a great applicant!
