Chance a current university student for Oxford

Hi all,

I’m an incoming freshman at my flag-ship state university, intending to apply to Oxford to study Oriental Studies- Sanskrit. I know Oxford does not accept transfer students, so I will be starting over from year 1. Anyways, these are my stats:

ACT 35

AP English Language (5)
AP Literature (5)
APUSH (5)
AP Art History (5)
AP Comparative Government (5)
AP Chemistry (3) oof

SAT Subject Test US History (750)
SAT Subject Test English Literature (780)
SAT Subject Test World History (770)
SAT Subject Test French w/out Listening (720) oof?

I’m also an intern at a museum of Tibetan art, located in a nearby major city, and said to be home to one of the United States’ most extensive collections of Himalayan artifacts. I thought I could write about that in my personal statement, as it is a relevant EC. Additionally, I’m of Indian origin, fluent in an Indian language (not Sanskrit though), and I love to read the literature of South Asia, particularly contemporary (eg: Salman Rushdie, Arundhati Roy, R.K. Narayan), although I also enjoy older, more religious works. Thanks for all your help!

Don’t forget to figure out the written work you are going to submit- if you don’t have something in hand already, look at your courses for this autumn to see what might work- otherwise you will have to write something specifically for the app.

Thank you for your help! I have saved two essays from high school, from my AP Lit class and AP Comp Gov class, and had the written works forms filled out, but I want to see if I’d be able to submit something I wrote whilst at university. I’m taking mostly English and South Asian Studies classes, so something is bound to come up!
