thank you!!! you too !!:)

bump…

do you go to westhill?

I am a mom with a few questions! First, I notice you said your essays were “amazing”-I have noticed that a lot of “chance me” kids or the kids in the accepted/deferred/rejected threads often rate their own essays as amazing, great, etc. This is not meant as any type of criticism, I am just curious-what made you think your essays were amazing? Did you get feedback from someone with applications experience, or was it just a great feeling that you did an amazing job? The reason I ask is that the essays for me were the real wildcard of my son’s applications. I thought they were good, and that he had some creative ideas, etc. but I had no idea how to put them into context with other applications. Anyone out there who rated their essays as great, or amazing, etc. let me know what your thinking was. And again, I am not criticizing anyone, just curious because to me it is the most subjective part of the whole application process and I am just curious!

Luna, again-when were you diagnosed with an LD? My daughter is a freshman in high school and to make a long story short she just fell apart this year. We suspect she has a comprehension/processing type issue that never before reared its ugly head because this is the first year she has had so many hard classes at once-before she could skate by easily with most her classes and manage the 1 or 2 classes with excessive reading, etc. You give me hope! We have applied to get her evaluated. I don’t mean to pry but what has been your experience?

I was diagnosed in 2 grade and went to a LD school for 2 years (7-8). I also have an IEP. Sorry to sound like a jerk but I have had at least 6 people who really have no personal gain to lie and my essays, said that they were amazing.

oh no, you don’t sound like a jerk at all. That is a good answer, that you had 6 people read and they thought they were great. I was just trying to convey more my inability to tell whether my son’s essays were good compared to others.

Well it sounds like your situation is different from my daughter’s. Good luck to you, I hope everything works out!

Bump … still have not heard anything
