Please chance me!

You are excellent! No doubt. How about your essays? I think they must be stellar, too.
But applying to Ivies only is not a wise idea. And with your excellence, I am wondering why you don’t apply Early Action or Early Decision so that now you are more secure.

PS : Why could you have achieved that much?( Are you human being?)

Thank you. I didnt apply Early action or Early decision because first I dont like to compromise without having options (Early decision) and secondly because I didnt have my grades for the semester and I wasnt sure about French and Calculus 3.
The essays are really good (one is about a concert in India and the others for the supplements are about things that I like to do in my community)
i know I should appy to other colleges. Well there is some colleges that i can still apply.
Jaja yes I am. Well that is what the doctor told my parents when I was born. =)

Wow, those stats are like unreal. You have a very good chance at all of the schools you’re applying to. I would say you are a match to all of them, but Ivies are always so random. But your stats are incredible, I’d be surprised if you didn’t get into at least Columbia or UPenn.

Thank you. My first choice is Yale so I hope I can make it there. Chances?

Yale is always such a tossup, but I’d say you definitely have an edge and a very, very good shot there. Good luck, I hope you get in!

Thank you I hope so! Oh I forgot to say that I have legacy in Harvard and Columbia but I don’t know it that will matter. Chances?

Excellent tests, gpa, and ec’s. You have a great chance at all of these schools, but you have to remember that even with these qualifications they may deny you. Ivy’s reject people who have 4.0’s and have a bunch of ec’s, so keep that in mind. Legacy may help out only a bit.

Yale- reach
Harvard- reach
UPenn- high match
Columbia- low reach
Darmouth- reach

chance me back please!!!

all the ivies are reaches but dartmouth id the easiest one to get into that is on your list

chance me

wow you have an excellent chance at getting in. I would say you are in for sure, but thats just me. You have unreal stats!! If you had a good essay, I think you are in. Great Job! You’re going to go far.

Thanks to all! and if you want me to chance you just tell me. =)

Is anyone else smelling a ■■■■■? I don’t know; like people above me have said, those stats seem too good to be true.

To the OP: if I read your post right, you have maintained a perfect GPA, have legacies at Harvard and Columbia, claim fluency in six different languages, play five different sports (how is that even possible?! My school only allows up to three sports per year), know how to play 12 different musical instruments, have been awarded special prizes by the president (presumably Felipe Calder

I post a message in your board with my email. Feel free to contact me.
Answer to your response:
-I have legacy in Columbia; my uncle drop out from Harvard so I think that one doesn’t count. *I was curious to know if legacy could impact your application status.
-I am fluent in fvie. Mandarin: I am not completely fluent in this one but I could easily maintin a conversation.
-I played tennis and volleyball in my freshman and sophomore year. The other sports are what I played in my following years. (Schools are different: my freshman year was in a different school. If you know the Mexican schools system you can easily deduce this.) Note: My schools (both) allow students to play up to seven sports a year (no student at the moment); this is because the seasons of each sport are different.
-I play all of those instruments and some two or three more; I just play semi-professional six of these though. I have played in 40 concerts.
-I have been rewarded by Pres. Calderon once; Pres. Fox once; Pres. Zedillo twice.
-No, the researches haven’t been published and I don’t think I mentioned that. I did mention that I have articles in local newspapers published.
-All the hours have been earned through hard work throughotu my life as I mentioned.
-I am president of my class.

JAJA I am typing on my Iphone becayse I don’t have a computer at this moment; now if you want me to be formal I will, but I thought this was a site in which young people make opinions about other young people. And I meant elaborating researches (organizing, etc.) I had a 790 in the writing section.

Well, I will be happy to answer all your questions. =)
Hope you open your mind some day!

I’m a bit skeptical as well, if I’m honest but it may well be true. Can I ask what your research topics where? Can you PM me or post it - whichever you’d prefer? Sorry to be skeptical but ■■■■■■ are a common thing in this forum. :/

I understand. I really do. I just post my email in your message board as well. Just email me your questions and I will answer them as soon as I can. Chances?

From what I understand of Mexican politics, Calderon has been in office since 2006, Fox since 2000, and Zedillo since 1994. This indicates that some of the awards you’re mentioning were actually earned a long time ago, very possibly in elementary school. Just to give you a heads-up: no U.S. university cares about your EC’s/awards that were either done or earned prior to your freshman year of high school. They only look at extracurricular records from the past four years, which also means that you’ll have to recalculate your work and service hours. Sorry to break it to you, but this is also true of Ivy League admissions. You’ll have to leave out everything that you accomplished prior to freshman year. Obviously, this is quite a bummer considering your situation, but it’s something you need to know.

Now on to the actual chancing. One thing to remember about the Ivies is that they are trying to create well-rounded student BODIES, not just well-rounded students. From what I’ve seen, you appear to have multiple extracurriculars in very diverse areas. Which ones would you be able to easily pinpoint and say, “This is what I’m all about”? You’ll have to make sure that you communicate in your essays where your real interests lie. Colleges are starting to move away from the “well-rounded” student, being more in favor of the “well-lopsided” student these days, so having a passion that you’ve pursued in-depth is very important. If you do this, I can almost guarantee you’ll get into at least one college on your list.

And yes, you are correct in that this is generally a forum where young people comment on other young people’s chances at top universities. As a matter of fact, I’m a young person myself (I haven’t reached my 16th birthday yet), despite the serious tone of my first post. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m still inclined to be skeptical of your stats, but if they are really what you say they are then I’d say you have great chances.

Yes. I am just mentioning this as part of my curriculum which I am sending to every single school. I am aware of what they ask for and actually you are right. It is also true that colleges are focusing more in what you called “well-lopside” students; note-I don’t know why are they applying Ford’s philosophy now and did not do this in the past. Well… Thanks for chancing me and I will be sending extra information to these colleges as well.
*My essays are related to my intended major (international relations and/or political science), but I still don’t know if I should send my US history test since it is pretty low to the expectations of my intended major. What do you think?

Chance me please!

Chances???
