I know it looks like I'm going for a brand name. I'm going to straight-up admit it, I am. That's the only way I can make my family proud. Please don't judge. Do I have a chance at any of the non-safeties in my list? I'm either applying as a Spanish or Math major.

Thanks!

? So many people, so few opinions.

First of all, please don’t go to a particular college for your family. Go for you. A collegiate education is something you don’t want to regret.

With that out of the way, you SAT is to die for. Good job on that. However, all those B’s on your transcript are crushing your chances. You have to realize that there will be people with better grades than you along with better standardized test scores. Your extracurricular activities show a focus in science, but I don’t think you branched out enough. You need to try different things. Also, there is a lack of leadership. Unfortunately, that mean’s a no go on your non-safeties. At least you’re not Asian. Your chances would have been at 0%.

Alright. Bump. Can you tell me which colleges you think I can get into on my list?

Nice courses, advanced and it seems like you can handle a strong course load. However, you appear to have a slightly lower than average GPA as a result for many of your choices. Admissions might see that in lieu of your advanced courses, you are a great candidate, which you are otherwise besides your B’s. Nice EC base but it does not show any work, nice internship or sport/instrument which could be a weakness in the eyes of the admissions committee. Hope you get in to a good school! Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1317220-chance-me-my-college-choices.html</a></p>

Anyone else? Please?

double 800’s in middle school? definitely trolling.

Trust me, I’m not. Please don’t insult me. It’s not that uncommon.

Bumppppppp

You should be taking a math course every year of high school. If your school lets you dual enroll at Princeton, surely you could take math there?

how did u manage to take Calc BC your freshman year???

^trolls can take whatever they like whenever they like.

If I’m really a ■■■■■, why is my GPA so low? Give me the benefit of the doubt and chance me, or don’t post at all. The last thing I need right now is someone challenging my stats; they’re already low enough. And I can’t take a Pton course in math because a) it’s limited to one course a semester and b) you need all A’s in the discipline you want to take courses in, my B in Calc prevents me from taking a Pton course in math.

Well at least take Diff Eq at a CC or online or something…? If you want to be a math major only two years of high school math looks weak, even if they are extremely advanced classes.

@alwaysleah,

That seems fair enough. I’ll probably take diff eqs over the summer.

Any other opinions, friends?

Bumpppp. Anyone?

Okay, well if you’re really not ■■■■■■■■ then here goes.
Your GPA is low. No doubt. BUT the double 800’s, AP scores, and extracurriculars definitely make up for most of it. We all know that the acceptances for places like Brown and Cornell are super wierd. The thing is, with your obscure stats, it’s almost impossible to tell what’s going to happen. All I can say is that you’re next to guarunteed for the “lesser” schools on this list, like UCLA.
chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1319216-please-chance-me-im-going-nuts.html</a></p>

Alright, that makes me feel a bit better. Thanks! You’ve been chanced.

Bumpity bump bump.
