<p>I would say your chance is 50-50.</p>

<p>For a Cornell applicant, neither your GPA nor your standardized tests are particularly fantastic; however, in your favor, your AP scores are impressive, ILR is somewhat easier to be accepted to, being a minority applicant is a plus, your extenuating circumstances are certainly understandable, and (solely from its quiz bowl reputation, which is all I know of the place) Detroit Country Day is a fantastic school.</p>

<p>Cornell is more than willing to look over GPA and SATs (within reason, of course) if they believe you are a good fit with the school. Your AP courses and scores certainly show a strong interest in fields related to ILR; however, your extracurriculars, while no doubt impressive, are not closely related to your intended field of study.</p>

<p>So, as I say, 50-50.</p>
