Research/Awards:
I did two research projects didn't win much. The one I liked was a microbiology project that dealt with E.Coli developing resistance to common anti-bacterial products. I qualified for the Northwest Science Exposition and won the Air Force Award for Outstanding Project in Math and Science. Won regional prizes (2nd in Category). Also qualified for the Oregon Science Symposium and gave a presentation about my mircobiology project in front of a panel. Worked with a professor at University of Portland (doubt he will give a rec, he got very busy and lost a lot of funding so I was unable to continue research this year)
Won some regional math competitions and went to the Oregon Invitational Mathematics Tournament.

Schools that I am looking at:
Harvard (#1 choice)
Yale
Stanford
Duke
Cornell
Northwestern
Washington U in St. Louis
USC
Oregon State University (Safety - Guaranteed Admission for applicants in the state of Oregon with a 3.25 GPA)

Forgot another Voluteering thing I do

Its called NSF (North South Foundation) it basically hosts math, vocabulary, spelling competitions nationwide and the proceeds from the competition help provide scholorships to kids in India that don't have much money. I have been working on that for the last 4 years and I am also a Technical Coordinator for the local chapter.

bump.........

Nice, nice. Get those essays done well, and there's nothing stopping you :).

bump................

Decent chances. You have good stats and decent EC's. I would say the only negative is that you are an Asian male who is math/science oriented and because you fall so perfectly into the sterotype, you may fail to stand out. I would advise you to really seize the opportunity to define yourself in your essays.
